missingno into ??? arceus?

I have a ROM too, legitly back-upped it from the original rom using Rudolphs Back-up tool.

And I was wondering how you planned to extracting it? Because I don't have much experience of rom hacking etc..

Thats the same problem I have,

I don't know how to extract it.

I figured that we have to use PPRE,

But than again WHAT do we do after we use the program?

I also thought of looking at the script which Arceus uses for his Multitype,

To see whether is there even a link for it to be in Curse forme

(judging that we can enable its sprite suggests that its possible),

But it is not like I will understand all the numbers and commands

It will be quite hard to do this, but probably we can change the Hold Item of the Arceus, by changing it in HxD hexeditor, that won't be too hard, since I know what values we need to change for the Hold Item, now we need to know which hold item it needs.

and using 2 DS might not be necessary:

Just give griseous orb to Arceus on pokesav PLatinum,

Save it,

and load the .pkm to Diamond/Pearl!

One tiny problem is I'm afraid it won't work,

Cause for it to work in Diamond and Pearl

Means it has to work in Platinum,

But no harm trying.

PLUS given that the Griseous orb is kind of a new item,

It is probably at the end of the item list

(means anything after that will probably be a ??? item).

But in the mean time anyone knows how to read scripts?

(eg the script for Arceus' Multitype)

You don't need an ??? item. You need a ??? plate. It's the only way to get it to NOT change back.

Hmmm...I asked fenzo is I could get a patch of the Hacked ROM, but he didn't send me a message back, and I send it about a week ago......:frown:

if not then maybe we can try looking at the hex of a bad egg. in generation 3 its type was ??? not sure about generation 4 tho. it could provide a closer hint

The reason why I said ??? item because,

??? plate doesn't exist.

I believed the game will have programming to relate the sprite to at least an item,

To an item that "doesn't exist" so that hackers and people won't find it an exploit it.

Plus the ??? item exists only to keep the programming stable.

It is like empty spaces to maintain the integrity. I don't know.

Also called placeholders.

The problem with the hacked rom,

Is that they probably added the item (curse plate) into the list

And maybe edited the script for Multitype so that it can allow ??? ARceus to appear when curse plate is attached.

But since they are pros,

All they had to do was to look at the script and attach the so-called placeholder item don't they?

Why the hassle of modifying the rom?

I'm starting to think that we won't find the correct ??? item.

Unless some pro can read the script and tell us the HEX for the last missing placeholder item,

Than we should be able to generate it.

I dont know. No one seems to post an answer. I tried it but loading a Arceus w/ Griseous Orb to pokesav D/P doesn't seem to work. I'm probably missing a step.

You do realise that it didn't transform back because its ability is no longer multitype right?

Its mentioned somewhere in this forums,

Similarly to Castform in other weather forms outside battle.

It has the sprite, but doesn't have the type.

It is still normal type.

The only real way for it to be truly ??? type is to find an item (i don't know how)

Which it won't transform with, even with its original ability.

To me, right now the only way is to play with Arceus' Multitype script,

Which I believe that it will shed a clue to this unknown unidentified place holder,

and because we can make it change sprites,

it may mean that it is programmed, just not explored.

(but i may be wrong)

The thing is I'm not too fond of all the stuff in the rom,

(its like alien)

So if someone can at least tell us,

Or even upload just plainly the script for multitype,

It may make our life difficult.

3.go to market and get the Giratina and it is holding the ??? item

and then set it into your BAG and then you see a BIG ?

ps.you need 2 DS AND 2 POKEMON GAME FOR SURE POKEMON PLATINUM
