Are we 100 % certain this is unreleased?
I keep wondering if this was perhaps given via the customer support if there was a problem with Bank maybe...
Though, there are no reports, so it may not be the case.

That's an interesting take on the situation!

That would certainly be an effective way to distribute it, though I don't think it was on both servers (I think it was only on X; I can't check that right now)

 

I haven't heard about "unable to redeem from Bank hence from serial code" reports, and furthermore it was free for bank (I don't even think you needed an active subscription), so people were able to format their 3DS to get new NNIDs and farm the Celebis, so it's not even behind a paywall ><

still, it would be interesting if it was indeed for that very purpose, just that maybe nobody reported it
