  7. I personally use GBxCart RW with FlashGBX and it works like a charm with III gen Pokémon games. @jcb753 are you sure that the cartridge is original? Have you correctly installed the GBxCart RW's drivers? Does it work with other carts?
  8. 1. Importing a folder starts at the currently displayed box, and only overwrites one slot at a time. Try it and see. 2. Transfer logic should match the real transfer logic.
  9. PKHeX should be able to read a .raw GC Memory Card file. There could be a problem with latest builds: your file doesn't work with PKHeX 24.03.26/24.03.10, but it works with PKHeX 24.01.12 Until a fix, you can either use an old build or use Dolphin Memory Card manager to extract the .gci Colosseum file.

  14. Hey there! I'm just writing this topic, because i tried everything I could to make it work, but didn't manage to get anything I'm trying to get a functional version of ALM in pkhex, but i simply find it impossible... since the automatic tool doesn't work anymore, I already downloaded various *.cs files, and tried the "plugins folder" manual method, but I can't make this work... Is there a way to download the *.dll file to make the plugin work? If not... is there any video showing how to make a .dll file from that .cs files I have? I'm having some trouble and seems to be impossible to me, because the guide doesn't tell me more than "download the files, put them in a folder and it's ok... That's not working for me... Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!
  15. I'm planning to start a playthrough from Soul Silver through to violet transferring pokemon between each generation as I go (I have bank for the final jump to switch and home). However I have two questions I've not been able to find an answer too so I'm asking. 1) When dumping/importing boxes is it individual boxes or all of them e.g. if in soul silver I have pokemon in boxes 1 and 2 while in Alpha Sapphire I have pokemon in boxes 3 can I choose to only import and overwrite boxes 1 and 2 but leave 3 on untouched so I don't lose the pokemon I've caught up to unlocking storage or is it always individual pokemon or all storage? From reading the FAQ I think I'll need to transfer them individually as it seems like dumping/importing boxes does all of them not just one box or a selection of boxes. 2) When moving between generations am I correct (from the FAQ) I just need to move the pokemon over by following the directions and they'll be correctly recorded as having been transferred the way they would if I'd done it back while that generations transfer feature was active (again with the exception of Home which creates its own trackers)? This is for the transferring of legitimately caught pokemon in each generation to the next no other editing desired. Thanks in advance for any answers.
  16. You must export your changes from the program, then import them into your cartridge/emulator environment. It's not difficult to understand. If the emulator does not pick up the changes, then you did not import your save data to the emulator correctly. Restoring save states does not reload the save file, only restarting emulation does -- assuming the emulator's implementation reads the save file from disk at that time.
  17. Having the same issue as OP. I followed the exact steps laid out and the items I added to my save file in PkHeX are still not in my bag or PC when I import it in to the emulator. When I reopen the save file in PkHeX, I can see the rare candies again that I added to my bag. The only steps I didn't do (because it isn't an option) is step 7 of "Export main". When I click "Export SAV..." nothing like that shows up. It just brings up the file save location on where to export it to.
  18. I was able to use the Dolphin Memory Card Manager to export the save as a .gci file. Then it can be opened in PKHeX and edited. Once done go back to the Memory Card Manager to delete the old save and import the modified one.

  20. @leafgreen357 To fix your issue, download a new ROM. The LeafGreen ROM that comes with the RG35XX is broken and causes the SS Anne issue. I think it’s against the rules for me to link the ROM here, but you can easily find it on Google; just look up “Pokemon leaf green ROM” and the first result should be the one you want. So first, download that new ROM. Then load that ROM into the emulator (use the mGBA core if you can) and create a new save by completing the beginning sequence then performing an in-game save. Next, take your original .sav where you’re running into the SS Anne glitch, and use the tool I mentioned above to convert your .sav to .srm: https://thysbelon.github.io/gbaconv-web/ After this, you should be able to open the .srm file in PkHeX. Or I think you can also just manually change the .srm extension to .sav but I haven’t tried this. If you edit the file in PkHeX, save your changes to a new file, and name the file to exactly match the name of the fresh .sav you created using the new ROM. So if the new ROM’s file name is “Pokemon - Leaf Green Version (U) (V1.1)”, rename your .sav to “Pokemon - Leaf Green Version (U) (V1.1).sav”. I can’t remember if PkHeX saves as a .sav or .srm (or both?), but if you end up with a .srm and need a .sav (i.e. if you aren’t using RetroArch), just run the .srm back through the tool I linked above and it will spit out a .sav. Lastly, replace the fresh .sav/.srm with your desired .sav/.srm, and you should be good to go.
  21. @Strato @leafgreen357 and @ anyone else struggling with this issue: I’m not sure what exactly Kaphotics did to fix peteywhit’s save file, but I was struggling with this same error loading my FireRed save into PkHeX. From my own testing + similar sentiments I’ve seen online, there appears to be an issue that affects .sav files created from certain Pokémon ROMs that come pre-loaded on the Anbernic RG35XX. Specifically in this case, “004 Pokemon Fire Red.gba” and “005 Pokemon Leaf Green.gba” create these 64kb .sav files that PkHeX and other programs see as invalid. I’m not sure if this is an issue with the ROM, or the emulator, or the OS, or whatever (or maybe this isn’t a “problem” at all? I’m pretty new in this space and I don’t know what I don’t know), but the fact of the matter here is that .sav files created from these pre-installed ROMs don’t seem to play nicely with other emulators/applications. What I did to fix this: I ran my .sav through this gbaconv-web tool: https://thysbelon.github.io/gbaconv-web/ This tool will convert the ~64kb .sav into a ~128kb .srm, which you can then load into PkHeX and export to a new file. I personally just wanted to take my save from the stock OS and have a modded copy to play in RetroArch on garlicOS, and I was having a really hard time until I found this tool. So now I’m going around everywhere I see this question to try and spread the good word. If you need to convert back to .sav you can just run it back through that tool, or I think you might be able to just rename it from .srm to .sav (I haven’t had to convert back to .sav so I haven’t tried this) @Strato I ran your save through the tool I linked above. See if you can open the attached file in PkHeX. If so, then make your changes and export to a new file. I’m away from my PC and can’t remember if PkHeX exports as .sav or .srm (or both?), but if you need to convert a .srm back to .sav when you’re done, just run it back through that gbaconv-web tool. Hope this helps! 004 Pokemon Fire Red.srm
  22. Try saving on your 3DS instead. This isn't related to save editing at all; if you are having issues with an emulator, go ask where that emulator has support provided.
  23. There's countless things that would have to change to "complete" the story or arbitrary quests; either obtain an already complete save or just play the game. It's not a simple flag you can toggle. It's thousands of things that would need to change, and nobody would bother wasting time documenting and implementing such a thing.
