The Nightmare Nuzelocke Challenge Rules:

    -Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead and must be released or put in the Pokémon Storage System permanently.
    -The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. If the first encounter in the area is a Double Battle in dark grass, the player may choose which of the two Pokémon they would like to catch. If there's a static encounter in the area, the player is allowed to capture them despite already capturing a Pokémon in that area.

    -You must also nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
   - If you black out/white out, that is a "game over", even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
-Players can use only Pokémon they have captured themselves, meaning traded Pokémon, mystery gifts, etc., are prohibited. Trading and retrading the same Pokémon, for the purpose of evolving a Graveler, for example, is allowed.
    -You are prohibited from resetting and reloading the game when things go wrong. Being able to do so would render all of the other rules pointless. 

    -Species/Dupes Clause: Adjusting the first encounter rule to prevent the player from having to catch multiple of the same Pokémon, for the sake of variety. This means that the trainer can keep fighting Pokémon in the area until one is encountered that has not been caught yet, which then immediately counts as the first encounter.
      *There is a limit as to how many times you can encounter the same mon until it isn’t considered dupes anymore, if you encounter the same mon more than THREE times, then it isn’t dupes anymore and you either give up or catch the dupe.
    -The Nuzelocke doesn’t start until you have pokeballs and a pokedex.
   - You must go into your Game options and play on “set” mostly because it is a randomizer.
    -You must release or permanently box any mon that faints, you may no longer use a mon that has died.    
   - The use of a daycare is strictly prohibited, you may not use this feature at any time.
    -You must turn off EXP Share, as it is the classic way to play pokemon.
    -Pokemon Amie/refresh, super training, and Hyper training, and also the use of EV training in Pokelago are banned. 
    -ALL online resources are banned.
    -If you die to the Easter Egg fight in before you beat the elite 4, it doesn't count, however if you die to it in Post game it does. YOU MUST BEAT IT IN ORDER TO COMEPLETE THE CHALLENGE.
    
    -You must Defeat team RR in order to beat the challenge.
    
    -You may not visit the Poni Plains, Poni Breaker Coast, or Poni Meadow during the Nuzelocke, PERIOD, doing so will disqualify you.
