  1. PokeGen is now maintained by Mat. Current version: 3.1.13 <-- THIS IS A LINK, SINCE PEOPLE DON'T GET IT Be sure to always keep backups of your save files prior to editing. I'm not perfect, mistakes can exist in the program still. This program can be used for Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 for the following tasks: Generating Action Replay codes to create Pokemon, modify the Pokedex, and add Mystery Gift data, including exporting to an XML file that can be dragged to the Action Replay code manager Loading and saving of save files. Pokemon data and Pokedex data can be fully modified. Loading and saving of party and PC .pkm files (136, 220, and 236 byte, encrypted and unencrypted) Adding Wonder Cards to save files Conversion of Action Replay codes into Pokemon information (This is limited.) Finding a PID to match IVs, nature, gender, ability, shininess, and hidden power type/power - with variable IVs Recalculating save file checksums Editing items Editing C-Gear background images Most of what you need to know to use the program is self-explanatory. However, there are now tooltips explaining just about everything in it. There are some things that aren't quite covered though: Windows XP or newer is required. (However, it does run without issues on "emulated" Windows programs for Mac OS and Linux.) (This is only applicable to generation 4 games, and maybe not even HG/SS.) Using codes for party Pokemon can sometimes cause bad eggs upon activating the code. You can just activate it again and it should fix the problem. (You can check the summary after activating each time to see if it's fixed, or just close the party display and re-open it.) I don't think there's any way around this. As far as I know, this has no negative effect on the game when you save, as long as you don't save it with a bad egg. (I'm not even sure if saving with a bad egg would be harmful, but there's no reason to do so.) Pokemon can be dragged around amongst party/box slots. .pkm files can be dragged into and from party/box slots. You can associate compatible files (save files, .pkm files, etc) with PokeGen to be able to easily load them from Explorer windows. Holding alt and clicking a Pokemon icon will display that Pokemon's information instead of requiring you to right click and "View data". Holding shift + alt and clicking a Pokemon icon will set the slot's data with the tab's data. Obviously this is equivalent to right clicking and selecting "Set". If you don't want to receive updates to certain languages, delete the corresponding language file. If you can't figure out how to do something, read the tooltips. For those that don't know, tooltips are an informative message that gets displayed when you stop your mouse pointer over a control (editbox, dropdown box, button, etc) for a short period of time. There's also the questions and answers thread that's being updated occasionally. Note the date on posts in this thread if you're reading through it. There were many changes to the program since its initial release, including a rename, removal of generation 3 support, and other major redesigns. Also, this thread used to be the only way to post feedback/bugs for the program, prior to a forum section being made. That's why it has tons of posts when it's a locked thread.
  2. Hi, this is my first thread and I figured it might be the best way to get what I need. First off, none of these are for competitive play as I suck at it and probably won't bother with it until S&M are out. Second, I'm online usually every day from 6am to 8am SAT-MON (I work from 5:30pm to 6am so no internet or DS ) Tue-Fri from noon till midnight generally (PACIFIC TIME -8) I don't mind HOW you get them, as long as it'll count towards my Pokedex~!

  5. Hey guys, I used PKHex and added a lot of Pokemon to my save file (150+) because I wanted to complete my National Dex and I don't have X/Y/OR. I have all the pokemon that I need imported to my game, but is there any quick way to get them registered in my Pokedex without going to the Day Care? (A DSPokeEdit software for Gen VI)? I just want to get that shiny charm ASAP. I don't really want to trade Pokemon back and forth between my friend's game and mine, because that will take way too much time. I did search for this topic, but there were no threads discussing this issue in the current gen. Thanks guys!   7. hello, im new to this forum first question regarding pokedex is the following: imagine i have exchanged a feebas (pokemon ive never caught before in white2) with another trainer.. it arrives to me and starts evolving.. well: do i register both feebas and milotic in the pokedex, or only milotic? (as feebas evolved right after it came) 2nd: location: location if it was obtained in emerald as an egg? day-care couple or which? 3rd: date: do i place the date i obtained the pokemon (ie i exchanged it yesterday so id put 23/06/13) or the date the pokemon was caught in other pkm version (ie i captured it 1 year ago in emerald so id put.. 23/06/12) ty for ur info

  10. First, I wasn't sure where to post this. I did look around first. :confused: Now that the update is out for the 3DS, Nintendo has it's first Pokemon title on it. Best of all, it's free. Least of all, it's somewhat underwhelming. I played with it a while this morning and I like the look of it, but I felt that I just didn't know what to do with it. The sprites that were in it look great. All of the Pokemon have AR codes which I think is pretty neat. But I have no idea how to transfer my pokedex from my cart into it. Also, it would have been nice to be able to trade Pokemon indexes via wifi with people on my friends list. All I could find was via infrared search transfer. I hope it holds more promise than I saw at first glance.
  11. Hello! I am currently working on a new Pokémon game, Amethyst! If anyone would like to help me, could someone give ideas for new Pokémon? Any help is greatly appreciated! List of planned in-game features: ~A new story! ~A new evil team! (Like Team Rocket or Galactic) ~Hopefully over 100 new Pokémon! ~A few previous regions, plus a new one, Morto! (Name is still TBA, but this may work) ~Dark and Shadow Pokémon! ~New Deoxys Forms (Credit: soulsilver) ~New Items! ~New Trainers! ~Editing Trainer Appearance! (Clothes, Skin, Hair, etc.) ~Online Tournaments! (With in-game prizes!) ~Online Events! ~Battles against all previous protagonists: Red, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Michael, Lucas, Dawn, Touya, and Touko! (Touya and Touko being the Japanese names for the players in Black and White) ~Battles against all previous rivals: Blue, Silver, Wally, Barry, Cheren, and Bianca! (Blue will, however, be a gym leader) ~And more to be released later!! Just so there is no confusion, Amethyst WILL BE ON THE COMPUTER, not DS or any other gaming system, and THIS IS NOT A ROM HACK OR AN EDIT! A major pro of it being an online game is that I can update it (for glitch-fixing or just extras)! Also, Missingno and ??? Arceus will have data in my game, but only in case of glitches so that the game doesn't crash (However, I think beta testers might be able to get a working "glitch" Pokémon as a reward). Current Production Stage (CPS): Planning. Need concept art, ideas, and names. Current Projected Release Date (CPRD): March 27th, 2084; This could be lowered significantly with more help however.
  12. In the course of trying to edit every aspect of a pokemon for ROM hacking purposes, I've made some findings that may prove useful. Note that no tools exist to do this (yet), so I will just provide some insights on how each file works and those of you competent with a hex editor should be able to figure out the rest. The relevant file is (/data)/application/zukanlist/zkn_data/zukan_data.narc in a D/P ROM's internal filesystem. Unpack the narc (I used kiwi.ds's NDS Editor) and you'll get a folder with 58 binary files. Files 00 through 10 contain information pertaining to the height an weight comparison features of the pokedex, 11-58 contain lists of pokemon index numbers in various orders for use by the pokedex's search feature. Following is a list of each file, what information it holds, and notes on how it is structured. 00 I wasn't able to figure out anything about this file. Editing it did not seem to result in any changes in the pokedex -- maybe the information is related to the dex but actually used elsewhere. Of note is that it is the same length as 01, indicating 4 bytes per pokemon. 01 - Weight 4 bytes per pokemon. The number stored, divided by 10, equals the weight of the pokemon in kilograms used by the "weight check" feature. Note that numerical value in kg/lbs expressed by the pokedex IS NOT calculated from this. It is stored separately in msg.narc along with most other textual data in the game. I haven't taken the time to find the thresholds on which the animation used by the scale changes; if somebody wants to do this it would be appreciated. 02 I wasn't able to figure out anything about this file. Editing it did not seem to result in any changes in the pokedex -- maybe the information is related to the dex but actually used elsewhere. Length indicates 1 byte per pokemon. 03 - Trainer Scale Divisor (for female player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the trainer graphic in the height comparison feature. For example, if the divisor is 2, the size of the trainer will be half its unscaled size. 04 - Pokemon Scale Divisor (for female player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the pokemon graphic in the height comparison feature. 05 - Trainer Scale Divisor (for male player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the trainer graphic in the height comparison feature. 06 - Pokemon Scale Divisor (for male player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the pokemon graphic in the height comparison feature. 07 - Trainer Y-position (for female player) The higher this value, the further down the screen the trainer graphic used in the height comparison feature is. Default value is 8. 08 - Pokemon Y-position (for female player) Pokemon graphic used in height comparison feature is moved down by as many pixels as the value stored specifies. Values prefixed with FF instead of 00 will actually be moved up by 0xFFFF - x + 1 where x is the value stored. 09 - Trainer Y-position (for male player) The higher this value, the further down the screen the trainer graphic used in the height comparison feature is. Default value is 9. 10 - Pokemon Y-position (for male player) Pokemon graphic used in height comparison feature is moved down by as many pixels as the value stored specifies. Values prefixed with FF instead of 00 will actually be moved up by 0xFFFF - x + 1 where x is the value stored. 11 - National Dex order Listing of pokemon index numbers in the order that they appear in the National dex. In this case that is just the numbers 0-493. I have tried adding a 494th entry but unfortunately it did not result in a new pokedex entry. 12 - Sinnoh Dex order Listing of pokemon index numbers in the order that they appear in the Sinnoh dex. Pokemon that do not appear are omitted. 13 - Alphabetical order Listing of pokemon index numbers in alphabetical order. As with height and weight, editing the name of a given pokemon will not automatically update this. 14 - Heaviest to Lightest order You get the picture by now. 15 - Lightest to Heaviest order 16 - Tallest to Shortest order 17 - Shortest to Tallest order 18-26 - Subsections of Alphabet Each file contains a listing of pokemon index numbers with names that start with a letter in the given subset of the alphabet. Within each file the order is alphabetical. For example, file 18 contains an alphabetical list of all pokemon that start with the letters A, B or C. The letters associated with each file are as follows: 18-ABC 19-DEF 20-GHI 21-JKL 22-MNO 23-PQR 24-STU 25-VWX 26-YZ 27-43 - Types Each file contains a listing of pokemon that are of the given type; dual-type pokemon are listed in the file for each type. Within each file the order goes by national dex number. The type associated with each file is as follows: 27-normal 28-fight 29-flying 30-poison 31-ground 32-rock 33-bug 34-ghost 35-steel 36-fire 37-water 38-grass 39-electric 40-psychic 41-ice 42-dragon 43-dark 44-57 - Body Styles Each file contains a listing of pokemon that are of the given body style. Within each file the order goes by national dex number. Body style information is used exclusively in the pokedex and to the best of my knowledge these list are the only thing that makes a pokemon one style or another. The body style associated with each file is as follows (names for the different styles are never provided, so I'm using the actual graphics for clarity): 44- 45- 46- 47- 48- 49- 50- 51- 52- 53- 54- 55- 56- 57-

  14. To mark my excitement of completing my own National Dex, I will help others do the same. In other words, I will trade eggs. I don't need anything so trade me whatever via WiFi-Trading. Don't expect hacked stats or specific natures, but I can breed for egg moves. Just let me know: Pokedex #: Pokemon: Gender: Nature: Moveset: Friendcode: Misc.: Since it's in the egg, I can't guarantee much of anything but will go out of my way to breed for moves and to use an everstone to attempt to get a desired nature. There are a few pokemon that I can't use a everstone with. (i.e. when breeding for a Wynaut, my Wobbufet will need to hold Lax Incense, etc) Disclaimer: 1. If you don't get the desired nature, or want to tweak your stats further, I suggest continuing to breed the pokemon further. 2. Timeliness is contingent upon how much, if at all, I'm bombarded with requests. Be patient, I'll notify you via PM that a pokemon is ready and we can go from there.
  15. EDIT: PLEASE CLOSE. Sorry, didn't read rules ahead of time *hangs head* Alright, so my friend got a 2 month head-start on me on Platinum, seeing as I just got it a week ago. So I decided to get myself a team of Competitive Battling - Ready level 50s which include Togekiss, Garchomp, Luxray, Roserade (Thinking I want to replace this one, lol.), Infernape, Milotic, and Luxray (Omg ... Luxxy is amazing Fav. Poke). ANYWAYS! It took a few tries, but eventually I made it work(Some of the additional item options and such that I tried to include in the AR Code were causing the game to freeze. I can't remember which one exactly. I think it was the location option, which I tried in a seperate code alone and it failed, it was the Pokemon League). But finally I got them uploaded. The problem is, I'm nervous he is going to check the Pokedex or something. I battle with them, tried depositing and withdrawing them, leveled them, Hall of Famed, everything! I just CANNOT get them in my Pokedex. Seen orcaught! Any help? Thanks P.S. - I'm really wanting to learn more about PokeSAV and help not only myself out, but the community as well with their wants. Any experienced SAVers out there who might mentor me in a way? I understand the general program but not everything. I'm just self-learning about Hexi at the moment.   16. I was wondering if you're battling someone via wi-fi, and they whip out a Deoxys, will it be recorded in your Pokedex? I ask because you need to have at least seen a Pokemon to trade for it with the GTC.
  17. Would it be possible to make a code that sets the pokemon in your pokedex to the amount you actually have?(thus reversing the effects of the full pokedex code) Not a 0 pokemon code,though,unless using a 0 pokemon code would have the same effect as the code I want.:confused:

  19. Hi guys! I play Pokemon Platinum on no$gba emulator, and noticed that Pokesav doesn't allow me to complete the sinnoh pokedex in one go (the complete option is greyed out.) I'd like to have a complete sinnoh pokedex so I can get the national dex and unlock stark mountain, better elite four, resort area etc. I don't want to check the "sinnoh + national pokedex" because I think it'll freeze when I try to get the national dex from Oak/Rowan. I just started a new game, and I'm trying to speedrun it you see (not going to cheat too badly :creep:) Is there a way you can get the full pokedex? It would be a bigger bonus if you could complete the national dex too :cool:

  21. Pokédex Trading Thread Need a certain Pokémon for your Pokédex, but having troubles making a simple trade? Post here with a Pokémon you really need to trade for your Pokédex. Note that this is for simple trades for filling your Pokédex, so please don't request a certain nature, move set, etc. If/when someone replies to your request, please take it to PM after you have found a match.
  22. Question that has came into mind a few times, however never really looked into it yet, decided to finally post this. Has anyone determined how the sprites of male and female Pokemon are stored in the Pokedex? Such as if you first encounter Unown M, then later A, M will be shown every time you scroll to Unown.   24. Hey guys, first time posting here. Not sure whether this belongs here but here goes. I hacked a Caterpie in my Platinum game. I didn't hatch it from an egg but took it straight from the box in the PC. Pretty retarded. Now, when I look at the summary for it, the Pokedex entry is ??? Is there any way to fix this? I've tried to meet it in a random encounter, I've tried hatching it, but it still doesn't get added T_T And I've already saved my game. Any help would be appreciated.
