  1. So they're generated the same way as pokemon that you catch normally? I was wondering, since the game just plunks them in your box.
  2. Question about this game that I'm putting here, do we have any idea about how the natures and IVs of the pokemon are generated? You don't catch them, they just go straight into your box, so I don't know what generators would be used. Also, if they have any stronger nature/IV/PID connection than normal for the gen 5 games. EDIT: And apparetly I'm a derp because there's a post about it later down, sorry.
  3. I see. Is there a link to what's known about the results for the wondercards without set nature?
  4. Really? That's kind of impressive. Are they determined by different RNG results?
  5. Alright, I hope this isn't overasked, but... I know the relationship between IVs, Natures, and PID as it was in the fourth gen doesn't apply to fifth gen, and I know that Nature was decoupled entirely, but I'm curious as to whether there is still any kind of known/predictable relationship between PID and IVs. I think I'd heard that there isn't, but people here with more experience than me might have further information that I don't know.
  6. Thanks for the advice, I'll see where my ineptitude with this kind of thing gets me first. if I still have problems I may post in this thread again. I do have a DS Lite (actually I have all of the DSes except the XLs), how would the wifi thing work?
  7. ...I guess that would be a little more direct way of solving the problem; does it work properly? I mean, you can get the TMs but does it not cause any issues in the shop if you go there later?
  8. So I am in the probably unusual position of having a .sav of japanese pokemon white (and white 2 and black as well, but less immediately) that were created on a ROM on a flashcard. I would kind of like to put them back on actual game cards if that can be done without messing up global link connections and stuff. However, I am extremely clueless when it comes to doing this kind of thing, and have no idea what kind of hardware or software I would need to do it - all I have now is an AR DSi, which I don't really know how to use (I did some of the preexisting codes once, but never any of the ones where you paste in numbers), and an AceKard 2i and a SuperCard DSTwo, which I only really know how to move Roms and Savs around on (I'm pretty sure the firmware on the cards is out of date, and the AR probably is too if it even has any. It does have a MicroSD card slot, though I don't believe I've ever used it, certainly not recently). So my honest, clueless question is, is this easy? Impossible? Somewhere in-between? And what do I need if it can be done?
  9. In 4th gen not every IV combination was possible with every PID and thus nature, barring synchronize leads, chaining, and possibly RNGing. You need to do PID generation which might need you to tweak your IVs a bit to get the result you want.
  10. Well, since this thread seems to have some progressive use, this seems like a place... Someone mentioned earlier that a Record Edit function would be nice; I'd agree with that especially if it allowed you to edit the number of BP you have saved up (Speaking from the largely selfish position of a person who finds the battle subway boring as crap but likes the TMs).
  11. but I don't need to do anything to change the PID to have anything to do with the new data?
  12. OK, so I'm kind of new to Pokegen, so I'm not sure about all the details. I know you can now change IVs and Natures freely for 5th-gen-game-created mons, but I'm wondering if there are restrictions on changing who a mon's OT is. Specifically, I have bred some mons in my japanese black version that I am wondering if I can edit to look as if it was traded as an egg and hatched in my american white version, or else simply bred and hatched in the white version (I would have just traded it as an egg but I needed to make sure it had the right ability first). So, is that possible? Are there any extra data things I would need to change to make it look right? And yes I know I can just create them from scratch or change the ability too but I prefer not to, call me silly if you want. Edit: to clarify, I'm mostly wondering if I need to muck with the PID/Personality value/whatever in order to make the change work legitly; I'm not sure if those have any relation to the OT/ID/OT Gender/Language of Origin/Etc.
  13. How do you edit existing mons in pokegen? I was told you can't do that. And I know pokesav isn't as good; I just have a lot of experience with it and no idea really with pokegen. Also pokesav lets you change a few other things that I don't think pokegen does, besides just mons.
  14. Um, I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask but since it's based on what I read here I guess I will: Going by what I've read, either altering for an existing legit PKM or creating a copy of a legit PKM and changing the IVs or even nature won't affect its legality? And more tangentially. altering those things in PokeSav wouldn't make much more difference than pokegen?
