Help with an error message

Per the attached photo and Pokemon - what is the problem that needs addressing?

The error is:

Invalid: Current handler cannot be past gen OT for transferred specimen.

This happened on transferred Pokemon after batch editing to modify all OT names. However, it seems like the OT name can legally be the same as an OT from a previous generation pre-transfer. After all, it's just a text string, isn't it? Help :)

[Information outdated, follow this instead]

It's quite literal.

Current handler cannot be past gen OT for transferred specimen.

I've highlighted the error.

Latest (not OT) Handler refers to the Current handler who is holding on to the Pokemon presently,
that isn't the Original Trainer.

The error message is basically saying
"Hey, how can the present guy be the same guy as the guy from previous generation. that makes no sense yo"

for OP, change that to "!" (your present trainer name)

(I was using a female gender save, don't mind it)

[seriously, all the details are in the error message..]

Thanks, man. That makes sense. I haven't had any problem using Pokemon that throw this error in online play, but it must be best practice to keep this squared away in case Nintendo does make it part of the hax checks going forward

@theSLAYER, is there a way to modify this field using batch editor? Closest I could find was .CurrentHandler, which only accepts a number. I'm not sure what it changes, but it's not Latest (not OT) Handler. Thanks!

I've got no clue, let me check it out.

EDIT:
Using Batch editor, if you set it to 1,
all the Pokemon becomes yours.
(as in you become the Latest (not OT) Handler, hence its working!)

I have a same problem, but what you said does not work :/

if you have issues, post screenshots of all the tabs (on the left) regarding the Pokeomn data.

Is it the same error? (do show what is the exact error)
Is your save name Winter, and gender male? (I can't determine, since you've hid the top part that shows trainer name)

did you try to set and view again? (it's important. setting then viewing may update the legality)

Also make sure Options>Set to Save>Modify PKM info is selected.

[why do I get a feeling that is Kazo's Cute Charm Clefable?]
{also, using Batch editor in the box, with .CurrentHandler = 1 will likely resolve the issue; it worked for me, in the example above}

As always, thank you Mr. Slayer - you've been a fabulous help :)
