How to use Pokesav with Flash Cart?

Hi everyone, i just joined the forums because i have a quick couple of questions.

Anyways, i lost my pokemon Diamond game card and all my pokemon on it.
All i want to do is get back the pokemon i lost from my R/S/FR games and my Diamond version. So instead of buying a new diamond version i instead bought a flash cart after learning i could just make my own pokemon instead of going through all that training again.

So i go into the pokesav thing and i customize a pokemon, i made myself a charizard again and then i saved it. I put it on my SD card which i then put in my EZFLASH V flash cart. I boot up diamond version and i dont have my charizard. Am i doing something wrong?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me a step by step on how im supposed to put these save files on my flash cart, and how im supposed to get them to work.
    Thanks!

EDIT: I'm going to sleep, i'll check back tomorrow to see your responses after school.

I'm not sure what the save format is for the Ez Flash V, but you may need to convert it, or it's possible your opening your save file incorrectly.

That's the same reason i purchased my 1st Flash Cart.

How do i edit the sav file exactly.
I created the stuff on the pokesav, and then i named the save file of the original save file for diamond version. I deleted the diamond save and then replaced it with the other one but it still uses the original diamond save.
I don't know how to edit the files only replace them.

And Yes, it sucks to lose your game. Especially after you had transfered pokemon from Sapphire, Ruby, and Fire Red. All in all i had 1500+ Hours on my Diamond version if you add all the hours of the other games since i transfered every single one of my hard trained pokemons and around 15 or so events.
