pearl .pkm to platinum

I've been looking around for quite a while now and haven't found a topic like this.

Since how I only have one DS, I want to move some .pkm files from a pearl save to a platinum save.

Is this possible to do? Or would it be a better idea to get a hold of another ds, trade, and avoid the trouble?

Click on "Save Box" on the pearl save, and then save them to a new folder then press "Load Box" on the platinum save.
Rinse and repeat until all of the pokemon are copied to the platinum save.

But, will it all register correctly in the pokedex?

Nope.
I recommend you use PPSE to do that.
