Shiny GTS Help

Hi. I apologize if this is not the right section to post this in, but I need help. I have done a lot of googling to try to solve my issue but nothing works.

Game: Pokemon Black

My issue: my GTS is unable to connect to my ShinyGTS server and still seems to connect to the pokecheck GTS though I have changed the DNS server. I even attempted to resolve the issue by deleting my connection settings and reinput the DNS settings to my Shiny GTS host IP. Even when my DNS is set to automatic I still get this same issue.

I am also using a 3DS. I changed the settings under the System settings -> internet. However, I had this same issue with a DS Lite as well. And, the Wi-fi settings at the home screen prompts me back to the system settings.
