How to insert new text characters? (Tentative Translation Project)

Hello. I've been considering translating a game for a while now (not quite sure which one yet, perhaps a GBA one to keep things simple?) to help practice the language as a personal project.
My problem is, the language has some special characters, (ĈĜĤĴŜŬ) so I'm wondering how to do it or if anyone knows of a guide for this? Thanks.
