Pokemon Wild Black and Wild White

Siam

Recommended Posts

During my playthrough of Generation V of the games, I felt that some pokemon especially potentially powerful species are only available after the E4, including ones that involve Fishing or only at Victory Road. These powerful species being late bloomers will not make it in time for the trainer, assuming that he is not using Pokesav, to train them to a point they are capable of taking on the Elite Four and Team Plasma's elite members.

To add salt to the wound, the creators of the game actually only allowed fishing to be accessible after the E4. So the player will have to contend with fewer species to choose from within the game! This is only made worse with the fact that White Forest or certain routes are only available after you defeat the E4; Some of those routes contain many potentially powerful species too.

This hack will seek to resolve the issues by changing the encounter locations of certain species as if they were an ecology and also gives the player more choices to pick for their next fighter in the team.

This hack will not add Pokemon from previous generations unless they are to be encounter in that place only after the Elite 4. Pokemon Black/white is now also more of a hunter's expedition because some good species have be edited to be rare so the player is going to have to go through a few more wild encounters before you will encounter that "potentially powerful" or rare species for your team.

Testers and suggestions are welcome

Gym Leaders will not be so easy to defeat as their teams become a little more diverse in their moves. The first 4 gym leaders will have Pokemon of slightly higher levels. Somewhat at above 20 and below 30

Conversations edited

Dreamyard

To reflect the Dreamyard encounter changes, Prof. Fennel's conversations have been edited to reflect it. She will explain the Dreamyard's origins and how it got to this current state.

Sends out <next Pokemon>

I have edited a small segment where the Trainer will not get to know which Pokemon is the opponent going to send out. This adds to excitement and suspense to the battle.

Trainers edited

Trainers will have more Pokemon since the new encounters will reflect in their teams. For EXP for the player.

Release Date

May - June 2011

While the idea is admirable, I'd rather see a list like this

Route 1-3 Add Pidove

Wellspring Cave Add Drillbur, just put them in the 1% appearence chance, and make the dust cloud ones higher leveled.

Pinwheel Forest (Inside) add Minccino, add 1%Deerling, and Rare Munna

Route 4 and Desert Resort add Vullaby, vultures in the desert, makes sense.

Route 6 add Rufflet to the shakey grass

Twist Montain add Swoobat

Victory Road add Gigalith, Gurdurr, Swoobat, and Crustle

Another Note, Gym Leader Changes

Lenora, add a Audino

Burgh-Shellmet, Karrablast, Whirlipede, and Leavanny

Elesa-Emolga, Elektrik, Zebstrika

Clay-Palpitoad, Krokork, Stunfisk, Excadrill

Skyla-Swoobat, Unfeazant, Arceops, Swanna

Brycen-Cryogonal, Vanilluxe, Beartic

Drayden/Iris-Druddigon, Zweilous, Fraxure, Haxorus

All Gym Leaders seem to know the early evolution trick anyways...

Also, after Cheren leaves to backtrack Route 4, a Dwebble should be added to his team, and after Chargestone Cave, Bianca should add a Klink to her team.

Marshal's team should be

Sawk, Throh, Scrafty, Conkledurr

Caitlen's team

Beeheyeem, Gothitelle, Reunculus, Musharna

Shauntel's stays the same

Grimsley's team

Mandibuzz, Liepard, Bisharp, Krookodile

N's final team should be

Meinshao, Escavaleir, Lilligant, Zoroak, Carracosta, R@m

Ghetis's team

Accelegor, Galvantula, Ferrothorn, Gigalith, Hydreigon, Seismitoad

Alder's Team

Braivairy, Sawsbuck, Elektross, Bouffolant, Volcorona, Victini*

*with V-create.

This GL setup allows the maximum amount of Dex Fillings without needing to search far and wide, and some match the charecters, N, the king, with a Princess and a twisted Knight for example.

I can state the trainer edits I suggested work wonders, my first playthrough of english White was done with those changes, it made a bit of a challange, and allowed for an easier dex fillup.

I actually tried to dabble in a tutorial I had found to edit the wild Pokemon data in hex, but my R0m wouldn't work, becuase the line no longer existed, which was wierd since the game played normally.

I also suggest that the gym leaders of Striaton be changed too. I really dun think their Lillipups are serious enough to be taken seriously.

Leader Cilan

1. Cottonee lvl 12 [black]/ Petilil lvl 12 [White]

3. Pansage lvl 14

Leader Chili

1. Darumaka lvl 12.

2. Pansear lvl 14

Leader Cress

1. Tympole lvl 12.

2. Panpour lvl 14

I am seriously considering if Gym Leaders can also use Pokemon of the opposing type to cover their team's weaknesses?

I would not break this Pokémon-canon if I were you because it would be very non-Pokémonish, but it's your hack.

Actually it would not be that far off nor unrealistic if the Gym leader may accept a type that covers his team's weaknesses. Besides

it doesn't have to be a certain type pokemon to go against a certain type. He can teach a move to counter such a weakness.

For example,

If I were Cilan and his two brothers and I know that some lady is giving the player a Deus Ex Machima[Elemental Monkey of opposing type.], I would discuss with my brothers on a way to counter that. One way is to teach our beloved elemental monkeys a move that can help defend themselves.

Pansage = Rock Tomb [Effective against fire]

Pansear = Grassknot [Effective againt water]

Panpour = Ice Beam [Effective against grass]

That is what I like about Elesa but just that needs to do better against rock types. Her two Emolgas cannot be hit by ground type moves but are severly grounded by rock. If she puts a Chinchou which is obtainable in Unova, She can take out the opponent's pokemon; your ground/rock type Pokemon on your deck.

Heh, when I read the "wild" in the topic I thought you meant putting generation 01-04/Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh Pokémon in the part before E4. Maybe worth a new idea thread, maybe not. I'll just put that here. :)

Link to comment

I will be focusing more on Unova exclusive species. However lower forms of some Sinnoh or Hoeun Pokeon that are found only on routes accessible after Elite 4 will be transfered to routes that are accessible before the Elite 4.

I think putting foreign pokemon in 'rare' spots would be cool, but the desert, where the most foreign pokemon would end up, has no rare patches. Mabye put the rare pokemon in the last slots for route 4...Trapinch, Cacnea, Baltoy...

Also, on the Driftveil Bridge

Pidgeotteo, Masquerian, Wingull, Taillow, Ducklett-by day

Haunter by night.

And digletts could share the dust circles with Drillbur.

Wingulls should be commonplace in areas close to the sea, I like the concept of Jellyfish being ghost type but too much is too much still. With that many jellyfish, their predators would be quite having a good time. Alomomola should be quite common. Sunfishes in real life eat jellyfish.

Alomomola's range will be increased in response to Frillish population.

Wingull and Pellipers will restricted to oceanic areas but can be made available in Surfing.

Lillipup's family ranges will be significantly decreased

Basculin I am still looking into it.

Ducklett's range will be made a lot wider extending their reach in fresh water areas. You can also encounter Swannas too

Spheals or Seels will be encountered sometimes but I am still looking at how to distribute them as Nature would do so.

Deerling's ranges will be increased.

Joltik's range will be extended out of Chargestone Cave to reflect Durant populations.

Heatmor's range will be extended slightly

Lostlorn and Pinwheel Forest will have

Bird Pokemon like Rufflet, Chatot, Pidgey, Swellow.

bug types like Weedle, Caterpie, Combee, Burmy.......

Durant will be made as common as lillipups. We still contend their real life relatives today, not sure why is Durant not that commonplace given the amount of ants we encounter in our lifetime.

Link to comment

Correction, durant will only be found near mountainous, caves.etc So will its predator Heatmor's range be extend in response. Almost like some ecology.

Durant and Heatmor can be found in Pinwheel forest too but will be rare.

The Celestial Tower which is full of Ghosts will be populated with Gastly, Duskulls, Shuppets, Misdreavus.

The Drifveil Bridge will not just have Duckletts but I will add Driffloons at night.
