Mismagius

Okay, so I'm using Enciclopedia Pokemon to edit my Pokemon Emerald save file. I really like this save editor because it's easy to use and is a lot cleaner than Pokebox GBA, but there's one problem: I can't click on the button to access my PC boxes (the button in the bottom right corner of the window after opening a save file). It just appears gray. I've tried all the menu options (and made sure the game mode was on Emerald), but nothing I found could make the button clickable. Is it because the program doesn't work with Pokemon in PC boxes, or am I doing something wrong? (I can edit party Pokemon just fine, but it's annoying having to go back and forth between this and the emulator to switch my Pokemon.)

Huh, now that's weird... the person who I got the files from said they came from their own Emerald game, so how could they have even exported the files into .pkm format? *looks at the file size* Huh, they're 136 bytes, the same size as the ones from Soul Silver. Maybe the person migrated them first and then exported them to .pkm... Is there any way to change the file size on these PKM files, or am I just stuck with not using them?

Well, I believe this is the first Pokemon forum in which I actually got to use Mismagius as a username! I'm a member of a couple of other Pokemon forums, but lately I've been looking at this one mainly for help with technical issues on ROMs and save files. Which sometimes gets confusing for me since I know practically nothing about programming (except a little in Java) and sometimes don't know what the heck people are talking about when they mention certain servers, programs, file types, etc. I've been playing the Pokemon games ever since I was eleven (the first one I played was Yellow), and focused mainly on the main-series games (the only spinoffs I've played are Stadium 2, Snap, Colosseum, and both versions of Pinball--and I quickly got bored with Trozei). I play just for fun rather than competitively, though I do pay some attention to EV's and natures when training Pokemon. My favourite Pokemon are Mismagius, Kirlia, and Ninetales, and my favourite types are Psychic, Ghost, and Dark. Right now I'm working on a huge project, where I plan to show all the attack animations from every generation (so people can compare how the attacks look when used from game to game). I've been recording my Pokemon from five different games (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, and White) using their attacks for about two years now, and still have a long way to go in getting them all... I'm planning to post them as videos on my Youtube channel when everything is done. (And I didn't make the avatar myself... I found it on Google Images and there was no copyright on it, so I decided to use it until I either make one or find something better.)

^ Volt Switch has a base power of 70, as I recall. For me it was a tie between Elesa and Clay. Elesa was really annoying... Frequently I had my Herdier use Dig on her Zebstrika, only to have her switch to Emolga and make the attack ineffective. The Zebstrika itself was really powerful as well. As for Clay, his Excadrill was faster than everyone on my team, and even managed to OHKO my Dewott. After using Hone Claws a couple of times, it proceeded to wipe out my whole team. In order to defeat him the second time, I had to send in my Petilil straightaway against his Excadrill, paralyzing the mole with Stun Spore. After that he was pretty easy to defeat.

I just got a bunch of PKM files, and want to put the Pokemon into my Emerald game (I have the .sav file on my computer). I tried using the following programs to do so: 1. Pokebox GBA - Only opens pokemon files in .gpk or .gbn format. I noticed that both formats are 1KB in size, so I tried simply changing the .pkm in the filename to .gpk. The file seemed to open just fine, but I got a white box instead of a Pokemon, and I don't know how to put it in my PC. 2. Enciclopedia Pokemon - Won't allow me to access my PC boxes; only handles .3gpkm format (which is of a different file size than .pkm, apparently). 3. IR-GTS - I installed it using the .msi file, and installed Python, but the programs all close straightaway when I open them (even when I have no other programs running). Dragging PKM files onto the .py files does the same thing. So yeah, at this point I'm stuck. Can anybody please help me with this? **The PKM files I'm trying to import came from someone else's Emerald game (I have no idea how they managed to export the files in PKM format).
