  1. ...Wow. I'm not sure how I didn't see that my first time looking at that topic. My apologies.
  2. I just got an NDS Adapter Plus today and uploaded a new Pokemon Pearl save so I could try Pokegen out on a low-risk save file. However, when I went to open the file, I got an "Invalid Save File" error. What do I need to do to be able to open the file? So far, I've selected Target Game and picked Diamond/Pearl (no effect) and I clicked "ignore save file checksum" (that made random eggs and a strange save file). I'm using Pokegen 3.0b24. The save file is attached. Thanks! PPearl.sav
  3. Ha ha, thanks for the welcome! I'm currently a pre-med freshman (so this isn't my last semester. Not for a while. ) studying Biochemistry at the University of Florida, although I'm probably going to double-major in Microbiology as well. As for music? Hmm... I don't have a specific favorite. I like a few mainstream bands (Green Day, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Dropkick Murphies), and a few others, including Nightwish and Albannach. I also like "epic" compositions (Globus nails that one) and New-Age type music (like Yanni). I'm a bit all over the place; as long as it isn't country/pop/bad rap, I'll listen to it.
  4. Thanks to the both of you! Yeah, I just looked at PokeGen; it looks a heck of a lot better than Pokesav. In fact, I've been crawling through the forums for a while now, and... wow. There's just so much to see here! Heck, I didn't think GTS emulation was even possible! And to think, I only found this place because I wanted to find a way to get event Pokemon. I can't really do much now, what with the end of the semester and college finals on the horizon, but once that's done, I'm probably going to spend a while going through it all.
  5. It looks like I'll be picking up the NDS Adapter +, then. Thanks! By the way, I noticed on a review website that tinkering needs to be done for the drivers to work on 64-bit systems (like my Windows 7 system). The tinkering itself (signing the drivers with an override tool) seems simple enough, but I was wondering if anyone here had experience with it. If so, does the fix work all of the time?
  6. I've heard of a couple of other cards, like AceKard, CycloDS, and Supercard; are any of those worth checking out?
  7. Wow, that was prompt; thanks! SMS4 sound expensive, though; are there cheaper alternatives?
  8. Hello everyone. After looking through all of the guides regarding editing and hacking saves, I've become somewhat overwhelmed. I primarily want to edit my retail save (the actual store-bought game itself) to give me event items and Pokemon that I've missed throughout the years, but the various guides regarding save editing are somewhat confusing to me. Some talk about cheat codes, others about downloading the game off of the internet, others about Action Replay... I don't know where to start. I'll try to form my questions to be as clear and concise as possible; also, if I'm in the wrong forum, I apologize, and would like to be redirected to the correct forum. 1. All of the guides mention different hardware requirements to get a retail save onto the computer for editing; what hardware is recommended for taking a retail save, editing it, and (most importantly) putting it BACK into the retail game? Playing a save game from the hardware itself (for the sake of cheats, etc.) is not a priority for me. 2. Once I get the proper hardware, how do I take the save game and access it with Pokesav/Pokegen? 3. For that matter, what is the difference between Pokesav and Pokegen? Which is better? 4. I've heard that getting Mystery Gift/Event Items isn't done well in Pokesav/Pokegen. If that is the case, what other software should I use? 5. What is the risk to my save file/retail game if something goes wrong? That's all for now; I may return with more questions as time goes on. Thank you in advance! EDIT: I just noticed that I didn't post in the Save Game Edit Help sub-forum. Is there a way to move it there? I apologize.
  9. Hello, everyone! I'm a newcomer to these parts, so I figured I'd start things off on the right foot, especially considering I may end up peppering the forum with "newbie" questions in the coming... minutes (I'm a newcomer to hacking as well, in case that wasn't implied. ). Anyway... I started playing Pokemon back in the R/B/Y era (wish I still had my original Game Boy, if only for the nostalgia), but I took a hiatus after Platinum had been released. I've decided recently to get back into the games, though; I'm planning to pick up HG/SS and B/W after my semester finals are through (along with a 3DS; my DS Lite's top screen is beginning to give out). A little browsing around showed me all of the event Pokemon that I missed through the ages, so I decided to look for ways to get them through other means, which led me here. I have to say, after running into Pokesav and Pokegen, I can't wait to try them out (once I figure out how to use them and what hardware to get, that is.) It's good to meet you guys in advance, and I hope my future questions aren't too inane.
