I have a working Internet Connection. I can connect to the Internet using my DSi XL. I can also connect via Wi-Fi using my Pokemon White game. Meaning that I can trade and battle via Wi-Fi. I can also connect to the official GTS and was even able to get the Liberty Pass Mystery Gift.
Pretty much: My Wi-Fi works.
However, whether or not my Wi-Fi works is not the problem. The problem is that I found out that Pokemon B/W's GTS had been cracked. And, naturally, I wanted to participate in the distributions. As well as send the Gen 5 .pkm files that I have to my game. And that I can't.
As soon as I tap NINTENDO WFC SETTINGS, I get this message:
“Please configure your connection settings under the Internet option in the system settings
for help, visit support.nintendo.com”
It doesn't give me the option to change anything. It just appears right after I tap NINTENDO WFC SETTINGS. Please note that my game's Wi-Fi works when I never went in to change those settings.
Naturally, I contacted Nintendo. This is what they said:
"You do not need to set up your connection through the game menus if you already have a connection set up through the Nintendo DSi system settings. It is normal that you are receiving this message, so there is nothing wrong with your connection."
So, apparently Nintendo wanted to make sure that these settings would not be tampered with and decided to make them editable.
I thought... maybe if I get rid of my DSi's Wi-Fi connection the NINTENDO WFC SETTINGS will become available. I was wrong. The same message keeps popping up.
The thing is... if Nintendo says that this is normal, then it is safe to conclude that everyone owning Pokemon White/Black will get this message upon trying to access NINTENDO WFC SETTING. But, I keep seeing threads that are distributing Gen 5 Pokemon via Pokemon B/W's GTS. Which means that people have found a way to edit their NINTENDO WFC SETTINGS. The question is: How?
