http://i.imgur.com/FdJz5.pngSummary

Pokémon Blaze Black and Pokémon Volt White are edits of the regular Pokémon Black and White versions which self-contain all 649 Pokémon, allowing a player a large amount of variety. In addition, BB/VW also have edited trainers, an increased difficulty level, improvements to many Pokémon and more. They are the spiritual successor of my two other hacks, Pokémon Fire Red Omega and Pokémon Spirit Gold. Blaze Black and Volt White were also - with one minor exception - the first of their kind to be made.

I should mention that with the exception of things normally different between Black and White such as Black City, White Forest, the legendary focus and the appearance of Opelucid City, the two games are identical.

http://i.imgur.com/mjhbI.pngSpecific Features

As aforementioned, the hack allows you to catch all 649 Pokémon in some way or another. This is unaffected by the version chosen to play; encounters are the same in both.
Every single trainer in the game has had their Pokémon edited, fitting a new level curve and increasing the difficulty overall. While not mind crushingly tough, they're sure to provide more of a challenge than the original games were able to. The level curve takes full advantage of the new experience system in Black and White.
A vast number of Pokémon have had certain statistics about them edited. This can be a number of things, including experience rate, typing, base stats and abilities. A lot of Pokémon have been given their Dream World abilities as an option, where applicable and/or useful.
Pokémon have also had additions to their moveset, including additions or alterations to their level up movesets as well as TM and HM compatibility. Level up movesets in particular have been edited for 600+ Pokémon.
There has also been editing of many evolutions, generally involving those Pokémon who generally had to be traded to be evolved. Blaze Black and Volt White are entirely self-contained; no outside contact is required for anything.
Items found in the field have been changed considerably, to include TMs, evolution items and fossils previously only found post-League. The items have been adjusted in such a way that makes it convenient for the game's progress. Where applicable, text has also been changed to reflect these changes. Multiples of certain items, such as the evolution stones, the Lucky Egg and the EXP Share are also given out, all in the name of convenience.
It isn't just trainers and wild Pokémon who have had their levels changed; event Pokémon such as Reshiram and Zekrom have also had their levels changed, ensuring that they don't become useless due to the sharp increase in levels.
All five in-game trades have also been edited, giving you new possibilities for your team.
A small number of attacks have also been changed to make them more useful, generally in terms of power (and rarely, type).
A number of documents are included with the download that allow you to see any and all changes made. Wondering what's new? Where to find something? Consult the guides!

http://i.imgur.com/Z7pxw.pngWhy play Blaze Black and/or Volt White?

With the extra amounts of Black and White hacks cropping up now, Blaze Black and Volt White has lost its main edge in being the only hack of its kind. I'd like to say that it being the first means something, but unfortunately it really doesn't in the long run. The main reason for playing Blaze Black and Volt White would be its dedication to the original games; with one or two exceptions the main Pokémon of a Gym Leader or Elite Four member does NOT change, and themes (including type and general appearance) are kept as best as possible. Things must make some degree of sense, or they won't be found in this hack. Most of the time.

These two also offer some "what ifs?" What if Flareon got Flare Blitz? What if Delibird actually had some stats? What if Weavile was given Technician? What if Gallade had kept Trace? What if the Gothitelle line actually had a Dark-typing? Just how broken would a Dragon-type Serperior with Contrary be? How about a Samurott with Shell Smash? (Between you and me, they are broken as hell!)

The game also tries to have as many Pokémon available early as possible, while still keeping them in appropriate places. There's a couple odd balls that are late such as Torkoal or Stunfisk as they were tough to place, but the majority are available before the sixth badge is up, and the majority of them are available at Nimbasa City or prior.

Blaze Black and Volt White also offer a 'clean' version, which is a relatively blank slate, keeping the 649 hack but eliminating all of the Pokémon changes. This is useful for the purist, and it's something no other hack has, as far as I'm aware.

If you're looking for a challenge designed by someone who thinks they know the Pokémon games in and out (and considering my ridiculous amount of knowledge about them and my three walkthroughs, I certainly hope I do!) then this is the hack to try. If you're looking for an incredibly difficult challenge... I'd recommend a different one. Although this one has its fair share of annoyances, too.

http://i.imgur.com/tGHS5.pngCan I see some screenshots of the hack?
Certainly. Open the spoiler below to see them. These mostly just show some of the first bits; you'll have to play it to see the rest!

elementking: It was thanks to him that I even got to start hacking B/W fully in the first place. Without him I probably wouldn't have discovered anything post Wild Pokemon editing.
Project Pokémon Forums: The ROM editing help section is a great way to find out if certain ideas are possible, and if so, how. Numerous people on there (as well as being found in other places) have made or stated discoveries that this hack uses, including Andibad, kaphotics and KazoWAR. Kazo in particular can also be thanked for the 1.1a incarnation of the trainer editor, a key tool for making this hack.
twistedfatal: His tools help to simplify things significantly, cutting down on the amount of hex editing required.
neltazero: His tools are also very helpful and quite easy to use, making Wild Pokemon and trainer editing that much easier.
SegNin: It's thanks to him we have the current .bat patching system for this, and by extension for Pitch Black and Pure White.
knivez69: The banner up top is his incredible work.
Various Members of GBAtemp and GameFAQs: For ideas on additions/changes to make.

Version Clarification
The Full version of the hack is the whole thing; the Wild changes, the trainer changes, the Pokemon changes, the item changes, absolutely everything. The Clean version takes out some of the content, so that the actual Pokemon, their level up moves and attacks are left unchanged. Trainers are edited from their Full version counterparts to clear up any inconsistencies done through adding new techniques in the Full version.

Download
You will need a ROM of Black or White to use the patches found in the downloads, which you will have to find on your own. It must be either English European or American, though.

I just managed to download the Cygnus Hex Editor but I got lost editing the wild pokemon. It would be wise for you to make a tutorial on this..

But I will play your hack in the meantime.

So I applied to patch to a US ROM of the game and see if it works. Will it work if I use a sav file for my original white game? So like it would be the patched rom with the original sav file. Will that work?

Dually:
1) If you're using a flashcard, it'll display as "Blaze Black" or "Volt White" on the menu selection (I'm thinking in terms of R4 or Acekard as I don't know any others)
2) Check your starters for any non Blaze/Torrent/Overgrow abilities, or try a stat down move on Cheren/Bianca's Snivy (if you don't pick it yourself) and see if the stat rises instead due to Contrary.
3) Encounter something on Route 1 that is either above Level 4, or is not Lillipup/Patrat.

Those are the quickest ways to know.

Andibad:
Take a look at the a/1/2/6 narc, search for "F8 01 02 02" in your hex editor and that will take you to the beginning of the wild data (Route 1 to be specific)

Okay it says both games are on my SD, and since I am on a US ROM it would help you to know if everything works okay. I will check on Route 1 to see if any other pokemon come up. Also, how does this work with shaking grass? Do pokemon of other generations that are rare also appear?

Info:
--Hack is working flawlessly so far on my US ROM.

Questions:
--Can we get a route/place guide to find the pokemon? Would be very helpful.
--Also, if I want to use cheats on the game, how would I incorporate them on my R4? Is there a different game ID than the regular version? I renamed the hack pokemonblack.nds and the save to pokemonblack.nds.sav and tried to apply cheats. It did not work. Any light on this situation?
--Can the national dex be hackd to show the new pokemon locations?

Any help on these three situations would help tremendously, thanks.

Yup, every method of Wild Pokemon has been edited (except fishing since I didn't think it was worth it) so grass/tall grass/shaking grass/water/rare water patches/dust clouds/bridge spots are all different

1) I included a document listing where the Wild Pokémon were with the download. Check the documentation part.

2) There is a different game ID, yes; there's also a document about Action Replay codes in there.

3) Not that I'm aware, unfortunately.

Do you know which narc file contains the data for me to hex edit pokemon types. Such as making Emboar Fire/Dark. And if you could provide me with the hex values for the different types? I see you were able to edit pokemon types so if you could provide me with any info I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

If you were replying to my post, I asked for the location in the narc to edit pokemon's types. Not the wild trainer data, I already found that before. But thank you for the direction to that thread although not what I'm asking for. My post was directed towards the creator of the thread seeing as he successfully edited pokemon types.

Okay, the hack is updated! Say hello to version 1.1.

Changes are as follows:
+ There's now a normal and legendary version. The legendary version will allow you to get all 649 Pokémon if you don't mind screwing the presentation up a bit. See the first post for more details.

+ There have been four new type changes. Gothita, Gothorita and Gothitelle are now Psychic / Dark, and Farfetch'd is now Fighting / Flying (in addition to getting a slightly increased stat boost).

+ Some battles have been edited slightly, either to make them harder or to introduce the new changes.

+ Some abilities have been changed. Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops, Lotad, Lombre and Ludicolo have had their original abilities restored, and Bellossom now gains Own Tempo rather than Natural Cure.

+ A couple of problems have been fixed, such as two incorrectly placed Wild Pokémon (one from a typo, one I forgot to change later in development) and a trainer in Challenger's Cave having a ? Pokémon (forgot to close that slot).

+ Further edits to level up moves have been applied, to the following Pokémon: Growlithe, Arcanine, Vulpix, Ninetales, Skarmory, Farfetch'd, Bellossom, Natu, Xatu, Carnivine.

+ Black City trainers have been edited. Their Pokémon now depend on which version of the hack you use (Normal or Legendary).

+ The download now contains UPS patches with the tsukuyomi patcher, in addition to the xdelta patches present before.

+ The levels of static one-time encounter Pokémon have been raised. Reshiram and Zekrom can now actually fight!

---

Hopefully, that should improve it a bit.

Thank you for the compliments and whatnot btw!

Updated with V1.2, this has a 'clean' version that reduces the hacks to the basics, perfect for the pure straight-edge player.

Andibad, i see you already found the legend info. Swarm I don't know at all, type and stat are located in a/0/1/6. Each Pokémon has its base stats listed in hex as AA BB CC DD EE FF, in the order of HP, Attack, Defense, Speed, Special Attack, Special Defense. The two bytes directly after - ie XX YY - is the type.

The Pokémon are in their National Dex order.

00 = Normal
01 = Fighting
02 = Flying
03 = Poison
04 = Ground
05 = Rock
06 = Bug
07 = Ghost
08 = Steel
09 = Fire
0A = Water
0B = Grass
0C = Electric
0D = Psychic
0E = Ice
0F = Dragon
10 = Dark

Legend levels I'm just too lazy to list. As it is they are mostly in shaking grass anyway, so repels won't make a difference.

Okay, I've decided I'm gonna stop updating Blaze Black and Volt White, so I'll just leave it at 1.2. Too much hassle to update with about six different patches to make every time, plus I really should actually focus on my academics...

There's also the fact I'm beginning to dislike some of my own changes (in particular the really high levels. ~90s seems somehow 'untidy' to me, but meh.) There's also the fact some other changes I'd like to make could do with an overall rebuild anyway. Hex editing is becoming outdated for Gen V now!

I updated the download links to be a bit simpler; I chose to eliminate the xdelta patches, as well as adding Hatchetball's usrcheat thingy in and rearranging the folders to be neater.

Anyone having patching problems now has a solution in the form of a direct ROM download. I've uploaded the Blaze Black Legendary Regular version, which you'll find the link to on a certain video site.

---

Squall - I'm not sure about TTMenu, but if the normal B/W work then it should.

zukesify - You've probably solved it by now but the code won't work until you get your first badge.

dbzhero - There's a readme included. You won't be able to use the Japanese ROM though, you'll need a EUR/USA one.

sliver - Not possible. It's unknown how to script properly in this so far.

don't using ups patch........... xdelta is better than UPS, because UPS is so bigger than xdelta, i was create patch for my hack, i using xdelta and ups patch, for xdelta will generate 401 KB for patch but UPS patch is generate 190 MB+, ... so ups patch is good for small hacking like just editing script not for sprite (will bigger if using ups).

I am playing Volt White Legendary Edition and have come across a rather big problem. One of the Pilots in the gym causes the game to freeze up. Think he is the third trainer to be faced in the gym, his text is about a lock on. Anyways, he says his text then the game just freezes. Wood R4. Everything else has been working just fine.

Those of you having patching problems, try this new release. Hopefully the new patch system will do the trick.
---
I'm releasing this a bit earlier than I was intending in the sense that I haven't tested this anywhere near as much as I should have, but I'm relatively sure everything is working correctly (here's to hoping I haven't somehow stuffed Black's scripts in White or something like that!). There's no "clean" (I probably should rename that...) version for the moment, just a regular/legendary one that has all the changes to Pokémon and lets you catch all 649. Let's just call it the Main version for now. As I've said previously, I recommend a new game if possible for the newest release: Version 2.0!

The changelog is as follows:
+ A new patching method has been introduced which allows one to simply drag an .nds rom of any filename in, double click on a .bat file and watch the patch happen quickly and with little hassle. Should the ROM be unfit for the patch, the prompt will come up with a checksum error of some sort. Hopefully this'll fix the problems people are having with the actual patching!

+ The wild encounters have been remodeled entirely. A lot of things are now found earlier, and fishing locations have now been edited. Post-credit routes also now actually have different encounters, with a lot of third stage Pokémon available.

+ There has been a huge amount of changes with the items found on the maps; previously existing items have been edited to bring as much important stuff as possible pre-credits. This includes evolutionary stones in bundles of six, TMs such as Earthquake, Energy Ball and Flamethrower available before the credits and useful items such as the Bicycle, the Super Rod (now renamed the Fishing Rod) and HM02 found much earlier than previously. In fact, the Bicycle is found right at the start! You'll also receive different TMs from three out of the eight Gym Leaders; but don't worry, for the original TMs are still found somewhere in Unova.

+ Evolutionary items have mostly been edited to now act as 'Use' items instead. Simply use them on the Pokemon to evolve them, much like an evolution stone. Evolution methods have been redone to fit with the new changes to items.

+ Challenger's Cave has been turned into a bit of a leftover pile, with every single legendary that isn't normally found somewhere in Unova found in there (including Victini, who may as well be not available regularly). You'll also find several Master Balls inside, as well as the legendary Soul Dew.

+ A small bit of text editing has been applied, editing things where appropriate.

+ Trades in the game have been edited, allowing those few late-game Pokémon to be available earlier on.

+ Earlier trainers have been revamped, with some minute changes in some of the later ones. The first gym battle is now fought as a Rotation Battle (though only with one of the three leaders as before).

+ Some small extras to Pokémon stats/abilities have been done, with the most notable being Delibird actually getting things and the fixing of Castform's stats to actually be 80 across the board. The formes of Castform and Basculin have also now been edited to have the correct stats. Some small edits to attacks have also been made again, retconning prior changes and adding one extra.

Yeah XD is still working on my hack ROM ( using you patch, but is have a break my hack ROM XD but is fine on my not clean ROM (i just change on header, and not at sprite)), so you done :) wkwkkwkwkwkkw , maybe is just searching target file and replacing it :P i see on you patch, i know path you ROM..... is make you patch bigger ( 1 KB)

Yeah i like you was using xdelta patcher. ups is not for full hacking like changing sprite, a lot text, and much ......

i think check sum is not important if patcher working changing narc by narc not byte per byte.

Please patient, for editing wild pokemon is little confused for begginer hacking, but is no really hard, is easy.
If you want a alternate form just add +8 on Second byte (flipped) it will alternative form, if out of alternative form it will become first form~

Updated with a bugfix, changed one or two things I wanted to do as well.

* Level-up moves should now be working correctly again.
* Ditto should now have Imposter at 100% chance, Gyarados has Moxie.
* Gothita line now have Magic Bounce instead of Magic Guard.
* Second round E4 rosters have been switched around a bit.

Another question, I want cheats but I can't find any usrcheat files for pokemon black can you help me cuz I'm playing it on supercard 2 and thats how you get cheats, I just want shaking grass more often

Kirixa
May 23rd, 2011, 07:37 PM
@nscian12
Use r4cce its a program which allows you to edit the cheats in the usrcheat file you already have.
It's pretty easy to use: open the program from the zip -> go file>import and select your usrcheat.dat file then click the new game button on top and enter the name and gamecode (included in the AR cheats doc).
Then start adding the cheats you want to be using (I suggest at least the rematch trainer, increase battle message speed and perhaps the IV/EV check).
Then just go file>save and overwrite the old one, this takes a little while (10ish seconds I guess) and you can start playing with cheats (:
Pointer: be sure to add the cheats for your game, those for the other game don't work (experience with that xd)

On to my question: has the critical capture multiplier been changed? I had three crit captures in a row just now D:

Cheers!

Um what's the master code for this game :/ and by this game I mean both Blaze Black and Volt White

Kirixa
May 24th, 2011, 07:18 AM
Do you mean the Game ID? The one that you have to enter with the name of the game?
If so, it's included in the "Action Replay Codes.rtf" file, included in the download but I guess I can help you out here xd
For Blazeblack it's: IRBO E91C9E43
For Voltwhite it's: IRAO F522025B

In case you meant a cheat which you have to turn on so the other ones work (like with the action replay for the ps1 I used to have), I don't believe there is any D:
I hope I was able to help.

Cheers!

Unbelievable.. I never get lucky..
Then again, it's kind of unlucky that my only luck has chosen to appear in a game rather than making me richer, but it's a start D:

Thanks for answering so quickly (:

Oh also: I found that the first rotation battle (gym 1) did not have the option to switch around the pokemon you've sent out..
I don't know whether that's true for all the rotation battles but it might be something to look into..

Cheers!

Any codes that work on BW will work on BB/VW too.

Here's a new update, adding some extra stuff and fixing one or two things.

- Fixed incorrect Wild Pokémon in Route 13.
- Wild levels for fishing in the post-credit routes are now edited.
- Incorrect Pokémon in Pinwheel Forest (fishing) fixed.
- TM/HM changes to the following Pokémon: Druddigon.
- Level-up move changes to the following Pokémon: Arcanine, Ninetales, Flygon, Swinub, Piloswine, Mamoswine, Victini, Kyurem, Scyther, Scizor, Feraligatr, Riolu, Lucario, Marill, Azumarill, Venusaur, Charizard, Blaziken, Infernape.

The "official website", http://poketrainerpokemongames.weebly.com/, requires me to "take a survey" before getting access to the hack and emulator sites. Some game-breaking bugs here.

First gym, due to you adding more Pokemon, it's a triple battle. If your main Pokemon dies, the first attack made by your second Pokemon crashes the game (both No$gba and Desmume), and also if you go to the Pokemon tab you get a "An error has occurred, please turn off the power" by the game. Unless I want to spend a solid hour grinding so 1 Pokemon can beat all 6, I'm stuck. You need to fix the gym so it's not a triple battle, just a normal 1v1, and the crashes wouldn't happen.This is the point where I have to break out an editor and boost the counter monkey up 4 or 5 levels just to save a ridiculously long grind at the very start of the game.

You need to change the gyms so that they're normal 1v1 battles, and then these crashes wouldn't happen.

Also, what happened to the normal vs legendary versions? The download links in the main post only have 1 patch for each game and have no mention of it, is it normal or legendary version?

1) I included a document listing where the Wild Pokémon were with the download. Check the documentation part.

2) There is a different game ID, yes; there's also a document about Action Replay codes in there.

3) Not that I'm aware, unfortunately.

Where exactly is the document listing?

Cody900

File is called "Wild Pokemon" inside the Hacking Documentation folder.

Just finished my full 649 Pokedex, so all Pokemon are obtainable. Although a few places I never managed to find Pokemon, but they all had alternate and betetr places to catch them so it was fine. I won't regret trying to find Genesect, Arceus and Rayquaza again, that's for sure lol.

I am interested in this hack; however, I wonder how difficult it would be to implement a hack that disables the effects of natures and EVs. Frankly, I think these have been reducing my interest in the Pokemon games.

It seems like it would not be too difficult to do if the offsets are known, but I am not a ROM hacker so I have no idea. Does anybody know if there is already an existing hack that does this or knows of a method to do it? Thanks :)

Sweet Arceus, this is great.
Earth power and Aura Sphere everywhere. Wow.
Slowpoke line now has drizzle - I haven't thought about that - that makes perfect sense (according to anime).
And the rematch system - amazing.
However, I see few problems:
Both aerial Ace and Faint attack are now 70 power, so it makes them useless for Pokemon with Technician. Sad.
And Magnemite line lost Levitate. ;_;
Oh well, it is a great hack anyway :)

Drayano

Crap, I forgot about Technician D: Oh well ;-; Glad you picked up on the anime thing with Slowpoke though, that's exactly the reference I was going for

Also, updated the patches again; there was a problem with Charmander's type and the Clean ones broke after a certain point. If you're using the Full Version you can probably ignore it though.

http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/1999/schowek01us.th.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/543/schowek01us.jpg/)

That's a bug caused by the trainer editor (http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?15910-Developing-another-BW-trainer-editor.-What-do-you-think&p=129736&viewfull=1#post129736). It's not a gamebreaker, so Drayano probably didn't bother trying to fix it. Just pretend they're speechless that they lost to you. ;)

Haha! I think I remember now, I had a similar problem when I was editing trainers in my HG/ss.... right, that's a bug. Good explanation, though :)

BTW, I just realised that the first trainer in Opecluid Gym has the same Pokemon as Lance in gen I. Nice in-joke :)

There's Lorelei, Bruno and Agatha trainers too. Did you spot them? ;p

Hint: You would have definitely done Lorelei's, and you may well have missed the Bruno and Agatha ones.

Yep. I spotted them. Too bad "Lance"'s Dragonite doesn't have Barrier ;)

Edit: One minor inconvienience I found: Pokemon Abilities changes and level-up changes are in two different rtf files. I merged those two myself, but it took me a lot of time, tough.

I have noticed that the Pokemon Rangers in Pinwheel Forest also say nothing after beating them. While that isn't a huge problem, the items they give can't be received either.
This problem effects most likely all of that kind of trainers.

Kazo's didn't work... I do have one more idea that might sort it out though.

Hello!
this is my 1st post :biggrin:

Well I want to thank the creator of this hack
it was very fun and entertaining :smile:

But I have one problem...After finishing the game I started collecting pokemons now I want to capture all the legendaries but when I decided to start with the god of pokemon (in challenger's cave BF2)
I couldn't find him there .. it took for me 2 hours or more
is there an error or something? or is it that hard to find him there?

thanks you very much :cool:

also there is a bug that I have found ...
when samurott reaches some high lvl (I think 70 or something like that) he wants to learn a new move but this move is "nothing" it looks like this -----
when I've chosen to learn it , it removed two other moves and left me with only two available moves.. but then I fixed it when I loaded the game and chosen to not learn that move....

Well I'm just telling you this so that you can fix it in the next update =)
Thank you for the hard work & I'm wiating for your answer about my previous post

Hate making an account just to ask for help, so sorry, but what do I do with the game ID to use action replay cheats on Desmume? I've beat the first gym and I've been looking for a mudkip for hours and the closest I've gotten to is a Totadile, so I tried to use the cheat code to get it to instantly happen and it hasn't changed anything.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I am using the latest version of volt white, I don't know what number it is exactly but I got it off this thread's OP 2 nights ago.

Honestly, I think that Omastar avatar of yours makes the account worth it

The Game IDs shouldn't be necessary for DeSmuME; should just be a case of sticking the instant shaking code in, making sure it's activated (might be a tickbox or something, can't remember) and then holding down L and moving around near grass until there's a shake. Make sure you are using the right code since it does differ between B/W. That's about all I can think of initially, hope it helps.

Lol, Omastar's one of my favorite pokemon and once I saw this gif I started using it on everything.

I'm walking around holding L on route 3, I've been going for about 5 minutes or so and I've gotten it to shake twice. Does the code just pick a random grass patch or the closest one to you? Does it happen instantly or take a few seconds for it to start rustling? Thanks for the help.

Tried playing VoltWhite in R4 Gold but I get errcode=4 when loading the game. I noticed that the created .sav file was 1MB in size while all others are 512kb, I dont if that might be the issue. My flashcarts firmware is fully updated so I know that's not the issue.

If anyone as any solution for this or could upload a working .sav file so I could test if it works on mine I'd really appreciate it.

I'm kind of curious as to the level curve you used.
If you aren't comfortable sharing it I understand (I used to be very tight-lipped about mine) but I am kinda curious. Mind you I am unfamiliar with Black & White and don't intend on familiarizing myself with it, I just saw you stated you actually used a curve, much like I did, and was curious.
Most don't use curves, they choose levels that suit them, which at times can break the flow if you don't play exactly as they do.

Well the way I made the game was like, I edit up to the first gym, play up to it, see how my level's there, go forward with the second gym as appropriate, play up to it, go forward to the third... etcetera. It's basically just using playtesting to check what levels I'm at, and making the game equal as a result. At least, I think that's how I did it... it's been a while :X Definitely along those lines though.

I did construct it assuming you DID use the Lucky Egg when you get it though, which I do regret doing slightly.

I see, well in that instance it kind of restricts it to your experiences as a trainer. Not necessarily a bad thing, just potentially limited.
I know nothing of the lucky Egg so I can't really say anything on that part...
I'll PM you my curve. It's pretty universal.

Hello, I have been playing Blaze Black for some time now, and am having trouble finding cirtain types of pokemon. I am currently just outside Pinwheel Forest and am looking for a wild Charmander. I am using the cheat where you can make grass special by pressing Q while walking. I have only found things such as Hitmontops, Throhs, Hitmonlee's, and Sawks. Here's what the Wild Pokemon.rtf says:

Pinwheel Forest

Outside
Grass, Normal: Tympole (20%), Timburr (20%), Meditite (10%), Spinarak (10%), Ledyba (10%), Machop (10%), Makuhita (10%), Croagunk (5%), Slakoth (5%)
Grass, Doubles: Throh (20%), Sawk (20%), Dunsparce (10%), Doduo (10%), Snubbull (10%), Aipom (10%), Cubone (9%), Burmy (9%), Heracross (2%)
Grass, Special: Audino (50%), Tepig (10%), Tyrogue (10%), Riolu (10%), Charmander (5%), Cyndaquil (5%), Torchic (5%), Chimchar (5%)

I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, I just caught a wild Bulbasaur inside the forest by using the grass cheat. Even inside, I have been encountering things that aren't even on the list. Help please. By the way, great job making this.

hello everyone!

I just patched the Full version of Volt White on my Pokemon White Rom. I'm using a DSTT card. The patching went well (I followed all the steps in the guide) and the black window read: Patched Rom successfully! Enjoy the game! (or something like that, don't remember exactly but I understood I did the steps correctly). I started a new game on Pokemon White but to be honest I can't see any differences. I'm at Route 1 and I picked Snivy.
Is there a way to know if I'm playing the patched version instead of the regular one? I've read something about stats but... erm... how can I know if the stats are fine?
Sorry for these "too-obvious-questions" for you but I'm confused :/

Thanks for your help! :)

awww no it didnt :(
but i wasn't playing the patched file. I was playing the regular one that I forgot to remove.
The patched rom is called PokemonVoltWhite.nds, right? Well, my DSTT doesnt recognise it. I updated the kernel and the infolib.dat to the latest version but I get the same errorcode -4 message.

Moreover the Rom I patched was called Pokemon White [U] [E]... could that mean that it's the American one? If yes, which kernel is appropriate?

thanks for your time ^^

EDIT: Ok after loooong searching I found the right kernel for Pokemon White Volt and Black Blaze. I don't know if I can post the file here in case someone has trouble for the infamous Errorcode -4. I found the files on another forum so maybe linking won't be appropriate as well. Just letting you know that the latest DSTT update didn't work for me and I had to find an older version. I'm happy it works now though. Still I kept a backup of my SD card in case I want to play the regular game and need to look again for Kernels ^^

-Pokefan Diamond on Route 15 (still refuses to work)
-Clerk Doug, Black Belt next to Pokecenter, and Ace Trainer next to route 15 gatehouse, in Black City

And it also froze once when I was moving Pokemon around in the PC.

hey there Dreyano....just played through your hack and was amazed at how much effort you put in.

I can't speak for others but I enjoyed the increase in challenge from gym leaders/trainers etc......
I don't play in tournaments or internationally/competitively, so the games' AI is the only ''challenge'' that I'll be facing.....so the increased challenge is greatly appreciated.

I did however, find it a little annoying and in some cases down right impossible to find the legendaries..lol
I mean...I followed your guide, but the 1% chance of them showing up tends to be time consuming. I perservered however and finally got regigigas added to my team.....although, I'll admit to giving up on the rest and succumbing to the use of an ar code to ''make'' them appear lol....

Anyways, just wanted to give you some positive feedback and say Job, more than well done.

Hey, I'm playing your hack and I'm really enjoying it. I think the last time I actually had this much fun was playing the pokemon silver many years ago!

Well, I just have a small question about the legendaries: Do they appear in the map (like the final bosses in previous games) standing there? Or they come from shaking grass? Or just the regular grass?

Thanks for the hack and thanks for your help!

I have recently downloaded the latest version of Blaze Black, and while I caught Regigigas without a hitch, finding Thundurus has begun giving me trouble. I'm not sure if it's the RNG screwing with me, or if Thundurus wound up being glitched out instead. I'm not sure how to tell if it's the latter.

EDIT: Oh for, after I post this he shows up. Carry on. :eng99:

Hi. Having a bit of a problem here - everything works perfectly up to Mistralton Gym - but then as I move to enter it, and the screen zooms in, it consistently freezes before the screen switches.

Any ideas? Have invested a huge amount of time in this game, and would hate to lose it.

Edit: Ive seen the Wild Pokemon change and even with the AR code (shaking grass etc..) 1% is just too slim of a chance to find them so...
Is there any way to make those chances higher? 10% perhaps? - Im using DesMume Emulator so my only purpose of playing the game is to finish both the story and have a feel of catching all (almost at least) of them Legendary pokemons

Thank you

Hey dray, when I insert the code ( no$gba fix ) the game does start up, however when I press new game it fades into the professor but about halfway into that fade to her the game freezes, this is for every time I tried it. I even re-downloaded the emulator. Is there a certain setting on the emulator that I need to change? thanks.

Have you tried running it on desmume ?

Hi Guys, I have been playing your hack and is having a blast.

But I do think that the changes in the Pokemons is a little... problematic.

I have just finished kicking the elite four's butts with a Drought Volcanora (which is one of your changes) and a Solarpower Charizard, and I can tell you that it was totally ridiculous. Basically, what my opponents experienced is an inferno of heat wave, with the the fire moth and fire lizard taking almost no damage, and my other four pokemons just sat back and relax in my pokeballs, for the whole time.

I think in your next version (if you are planning to do one), you really should consider disallowing Volcanora from legally having Drought...

Depends how you got it. Only the Wonder Card will do that, not the item.

Sorry to bump this topic, but I hear Arbok's movepool in this mod exceeds the 22 move limit. Does it still learn Gunk-Shot through level up in this mod?

I know this is going to sound like a dumb question, but how do I use the game IDs when it comes to enabling the cheats for blaze black. I am currently using the desmume emulator, version 0.9.8x64, and I cannot get any of the action replay codes to work. Does that have something to do with the game IDs being different or am I just being an idiot?

Hey Drayano, I'm a little confused on how to patch for the National Dex and the liberty ticket. Could you give me a hand? I read the instructions but when i put the save file back in after patching the game freezes.

I could use a little help because I'm having a particular issue that I can't seem to find elsewhere, not exactly at least. Upon level up (specifically upon level up) for /any/ of my Pokémon the game freezes or I get the "An error has occurred" blue screen. I'm using Desmume and it only happens upon level up after battle, not via rare candy (which works fine). I'm two Nimbasa and I haven't beat Elesa yet. I've tried and tried changing things up, deactivating codes, changing my party, where I was leveling up, but I'm at the end of my rope. :/ I've worked hard with my Pokémon and have been enjoying the game so far, so I don't want to see the time go to waste. Anything I could possibly do?

Drayano... I just started blaze black and though you can find all the pokemon throughout the game I'd like to have my own personal team from the start and make changes along the way. There are a few specific ones I've chosen and I can't get the wild PKMN modifier code from regular black to work. As far as I know none of the codes will work on bb.. I'm using no$gba 2.6a. Any advice?

Keep in mind that i've read the forum and know of the ar page in documentation.. There's just nothing along these lines in there. I know it has something to do with the game IDs being different, is there a program i can use to generate ar codes or is that something that will take a long time to learn? I'd prefer to just find the codes and plug em in =D

In the folder BATTERY in the same folder as no$gba.exe, there will be a file with the same name as your rom, but the extension sav.

Download Pokegen from http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?6424-Download-link-and-information
open pokegen then file->open navigate to where the mentioned sav file is and open it.

you may customize as you wish, wether it be editing your bag, pokedex, or pokemon themselves.

then when you've customized to your liking File->Save, and your done, you may now continue playing on no$gba

If your saves aren't set to raw in No$gba, you'll have to convert at shunyweb.info
You can avoid that bt using DeSmuMe.

Or you can just open the ini file in the main folder, and on the line where it says "sav/sna type = compressed" change compressed to raw.
