Troubleshooting

Won't Fit Screen: Change your computer monitor's screen resolution to the maximum available (To do this in Windows, right click on the Desktop and click Properties or Personalize). If Pokésav still doesn't fit the screen, try downloading Urza's mod instead, which uses a slightly smaller window.

Japanese Characters: For computers without a Japanese locale enabled, you must use AppLocale or set your regional Unicode setting to Japanese in order to display Japanese characters in Pokésav. For a guide on how to do this, see this thread.

Bad Eggs: If a Pokémon appears as a bad egg, it means the Pokémon was not edited correctly and the game will not accept it as a genuine Pokémon. Fix any mistakes and try again.

Cannot be played online, such as in Pokémon Battle Revolution: Nintendo has detected that one of your Pokémon was hacked. Don't panic, you won't be banned from this, but your Pokémon won't be able to go online until the problem is fixed.

Go back into Pokésav and make sure the Pokémon is possible within the game's boundaries and rules. If you can't figure out the problem, go through this checklist.

Make sure:

If everything is checked and the Pokémon still won't go online, try recreating the Pokémon from scratch again. Hatched Pokémon always have a lower chance of detection than wild Pokémon because their IVs aren't related to their Attribute value.

Cannot be traded on the GTS, but can be played online: If a Pokémon bears a Classic Ribbon (some legitimate event Pokémon have this special ribbon), it cannot be traded on the GTS whether it was hacked or not. To fix this, simply remove the Classic Ribbon from the Pokémon.

Strange Stats: This is probably because you edited a Pokémon in the party and not in a box. To fix this, in Pokésav, save the offending Pokémon into a PKM file and load it in a box. When you start the game, withdraw the Pokémon and it should be fixed.

Save Errors When Game Starts: If the game restarts from the beginning or acts strangely after you restore a save, try restoring it again. If this doesn't work, that particular save file may be corrupt. Try restoring your backup instead. If it still doesn't work, try restoring a save of the other file size (256KB or 512KB).

Pokésav won't load a save file properly: Try choosing another file size (256KB or 512KB) under file type. If that fails, use the online save converter to convert the save into a usable format (512KB RAW/256KB RAW). If that doesn't work either, the save might be corrupt. Back up a save again and try loading once more.

AR Codes freeze the game/don't work properly: Turn off a few codes and try again. Don't use too many AR codes at the same time. Some box codes are reported not to work.

Box Trick: To fix stats problems without going back into Pokésav, just deposit the offending Pokémon into a box and take it out again. This should repair many stat errors.

Loading Certain PKM Files: Some PKM files need to be loaded into a box. If an error message comes up while trying to load a PKM file into the party, try loading it into a box instead. While 236 byte PKM files can be loaded into the party, 136 byte PKM files can only be loaded into a box.

Pokémon Won't Obey: Make sure the Pokémon's OT, ID, and Secret ID match yours. Alternatively, obtain all of the badges in the game and all Pokémon will obey naturally.

Strange Characters in Wonder Card: Pokésav can corrupt wonder card data. To avoid this problem, use Poryhack's PCD Safe to import and extract wonder cards from save files.

Most problems are caused by careless mistakes. Make sure you double-check everything.
