Main Screen

This is where most of the general editing will take place. The basic function buttons are on the top left corner. These include open, save, and ARDS Code Output.

If you are only using ARDS codes to edit the save file, the "Open" and "Save" buttons are largely irrelevant. However, they can still be useful for saving your progress.

Open: Opens a SAV file for editing. Before opening a file, make sure the option under File Type matches the file's size.

Revert to Original: If you made a mistake while editing, select this option to undo all changes to the file since you last opened it. Be careful - all unsaved progress will be lost if this button is clicked.

Save, Save As: Should be self explanatory, but don't forget to save and make regular backups!

Export ARDS Code: Exports current edits as Action Replay codes (in an XML file). Check the boxes corresponding to what was changed, and press the Save File button.

Select Save Slot (Pokésav for Platinum only): Each save actually has two different "slots" that the game saves to. In case one slot is corrupted or missing, the other will be loaded. Use this menu to select which slot to edit. If you're not sure what you're doing, always choose "auto."

Save File Size: Before opening a save file, check the file's size and tick the appropriate option here. Some games will use a 512KB save, others will use a 256KB save. Flashcarts almost always have a 512KB save.

ID: Your trainer ID. This identification number is randomly generated when you start a new game, and is used by the game to determine if a Pokémon was originally yours. Trainer ID is also used in a variety of other things, including the Jubilife lottery.

Secret ID: Along with the trainer ID and OT, this number is randomly generated and is used by the game to determine if a Pokémon was originally yours. If you edit your Trainer ID or secret ID, be sure to change the Trainer IDs of all your Pokémon to the same value, or you won't be their original trainer anymore!

Name (OT): The name of the in-game character. If this is changed, be sure to update the original trainer (OT) value of all of your Pokémon to this new name. The game will use this along with the ID and Secret ID to determine if a Pokémon was originally caught or hatched by you.

Rival's Name: The name of your rival.

Money: How many Pokédollars you are currently carrying.

Score: Your current score. For most purposes, this field is useless.

Trainer Gender: The gender of your trainer. If you change this, be sure to change the trainer gender of all your Pokémon as well. This will also affect your rival's gender (Lucas will change into Dawn and vice-versa).

Multiplayer Avatar: This is the sprite that other players see on their WiFi friend roster next to your name.

Playtime: How long you have played the game.

Adventure Started: The date and time when you started to play the game.

Bag: The contents of each slot in your bag. Clicking on "edit" brings up the Item Edit menu.

Events: Edit various events within the game, including badges earned and roaming Pokémon.

Pokédex: Check these boxes to complete your Pokédex in various regions.

Record System Edit: Launches the Record System Edit menu, where you can edit various achievements within the game (such as number of Pokémon caught, etc.) To edit records, fill in the boxes and press OK when done.

Underground: Edit your underground inventory here. Clicking on any button under this will launch the Item Edit menu.

Party Pokémon: The Pokémon you currently have with you. Clicking "edit" brings you to the Pokémon Edit menu. Clicking "save" and "load" allows you to save and load .pkm files. Make sure the Party Members Amount box matches the number of Pokémon currently in the party.

Note: To avoid stat errors, it is strongly recommended to edit Pokémon from boxes and not directly in the party.

Location: The coordinates of your current position in game. Here is a list of different locations and their coordinates.

Storage: Clicking "edit" will bring up the contents of your PC boxes, and a list of all the Pokémon stored in them.

Accessories: A list of accessories for Pokémon contests. Fill in the boxes with numbers to add accessories.

Pokétch: A list of currently installed Pokétch apps. Just check/uncheck boxes to add or remove apps.

Seals: A list of obtained Pokéball seals. Simply fill in the boxes with numbers to add seals.

Poffin: A list of poffins in the inventory. Clicking this will bring you to an Item Edit menu.

Pal Park: A list of Pokémon currently stored in the Pal Park. Fill this with exactly six Pokémon to catch them in Pal Park.
